9/11

We just passed the 7th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks this past week. I had a few thoughts to share as I have reflected on that day and the changes in the years since then.

  • The world changed on that day. We can never go back to thinking about the world as we did before.
  • There really is such a thing as Evil. It was demonstrated on that day, and there was worldwide consensus on that fact.
  • Humans are capable of incredible acts of heroism, sacrifice and courage. We are also capable of despicable acts of cowardice, evil and violence. We are angels and demons.
  • Human nature tends to not change very much. 7 years after 9/11, it is hard to imagine or remember the non-partisan unity, sacrifice, care and pulling together we experienced as a nation. Sadly, it’s as if it never happened. Some of us can’t even bring ourselves to say the attacks were wrong or even tragic. Some say we got what we deserved.
  • Someday I fully expect there will be a term needed in our vocabulary to describe a belief held by many: “9/11 denial.”
  • The lessons of history are indeed easily forgotten, and as has been wisely observed, “Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it.”
  • The fact that we have not experienced additional attacks on our soil in 7 years is truly amazing and I think miraculous.
  • There are some things so valuable that they must be preserved at all cost. Freedom is a part of the human spirit placed in us by our Creator. That imago deo is what makes it an inalienable right. We must fight to preserve it at all costs.
  • If I had been younger on 9/11, I well may have joined the many who saw evil and wanted to do something about it by joining our armed forces.
  • I would rather die defending the freedom that God intended for us all, knowing that my life kept freedom alive for others… than to die preserving my own comfort and self interests.
  • There is no honor or courage in allowing one’s self to become slowly lulled back into a life of ease, contentedness and self-gratification, when there is a world dying at the hands of tyrants, vicious oppressors, demented cowards and fanatics.
  • Justice is a deeply embedded concept within the human spirit. We all live our lives as if it was obvious what is right and wrong, and on that basis what should be done so that justice is served… especially when the injustice is toward us. Yet we so easily deny that there are moral standards for knowing right and wrong. We end up going down the road where everyone does what is right in their own eyes. When we do this, we are cutting off the limb we are sitting on.

Harry Reid is an Idiot

Harry ReidThe term “Idiot” was originally created by the Greeks to refer to people who were overly concerned with their own self-interest and ignored the needs of the community.

Harry Reid stated on April 19th that “The war is lost…” Oh really? View Video

I don’t know about Harry, but I am personally very thankful that there are brave young Americans willing to take the fight to the enemy, rather than to sit back and wait for them to bring their evil, murderous, butchery here. It’s clear to me that our enemy wants to destroy us! Remember 911?

Harry and his band of Democrats want to cut off all support for our troops and force them home by October. Nothing like broadcasting to the enemy… “Just hang on until October, then you’ll be able to take over Iraq and follow the retreating Americans home!”

What could possibly be motivating such self-interested views? Could it be plain old partisan politics? Could Harry and his ilk be playing politics with the lives the Americans who are dying each day to defend our safety and way of life?

I can only draw one conclusion. Harry Reid is by definition, an idiot.

CNN Airs Enemy Sniper Killing a US Marine!

Insurgent Terrorist VideoI heard this on my way home from work on Michael Savage’s talk radio show, the Savage Nation. I couldn’t believe what I heard! Michael Ware, a British reporter for CNN, was reporting on an insurgent sniper team as they stalked and killed an American Marine soldier. [See Video]–>

Here is CNN’s response on why they aired this video.

Quoted from the official CNN blog linked above:

“Of course, we also understood that some might conclude there is a public relations benefit for the insurgents if we aired the material, especially on CNN International. We also understood that this kind of footage is upsetting and disturbing for many viewers. But after getting beyond the emotional debate, we concluded the tape meets our criteria for newsworthiness.”

CNN Reporter, Anderson CooperWikipedia offers this definition of TREASON: “In law, treason is the crime of disloyalty to one’s nation or state. A person who betrays the nation of their citizenship and/or reneges on an oath of loyalty and in some way willfully cooperates with an enemy, is considered to be a traitor.”

The Eleventh Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, Section 3 states: “Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.
The Congress shall have power to declare the Punishment of Treason, but no Attainder of Treason shall work Corruption of Blood, or Forfeiture except during the Life of the Person attainted.

I call upon Congress to use the power vested in them by the U.S. Constitution to arrest the people in CNN who are suspected to be responsible for airing this enemy video “story” and to try them for the crime of treason. They have clearly given “Aid and Comfort” to the enemy, and revealed an outrageous bias and adherence to our enemies.

What if I was a parent who had lost my son to a sniper in Iraq?… like the Indiana father who called in this morning to John & Cisco on WIND 560. My heart went out to him and his family as he slowly, painfully shared how this “story” had affected him. The unbelievable pain that CNN inflicted on American citizens like this father is unforgivable, and then to have the audacity to say, “after getting beyond the emotional debate, we concluded the tape meets our criteria for newsworthiness.”

Over the “EMOTION?” I am grateful that somebody is EMOTIONAL over this kind of EVIL! What a bunch of absolute depravity – CNN!

This decision and action by Criminal News Network is an ABOMINATION!

I am so angry and outraged, I can’t write what I really feel.

The Path to 911 on ABC

The Path to 911I watched the two-part ABC Made-for-TV movie on the events surrounding and leading up to 911. Overall I was pleasantly surprised and impressed. I thought that it did not paint the Clinton Administration in very good light (which it shouldn’t have), and seemed pretty accurate based upon what I know and have read.

What we did to the Afghan Northern Alliance leader Ahmed Shah Massoud was unforgivable. How we allowed inter-agency bickering and turf wars to impeed the gathering of information and the decision-making process was maddeningly embarrassing as an American.

I also have to say that watching the program, especially at the end, stirrred up that same anger that I felt 5 years earlier. I can’t believe that we as a nation have moved so far back into our complacency. We do not act like a nation at war, because in our collective heart, we aren’t. That saddens and frightens me.

It feels like the only thing that will wake us up is another tragedy. Our very future is at stake. I hope and pray it does not come to that, and that our leaders will start recognizing the enemy for who they really are, calling it straight and going after them with renewed commitment and energy.
